Für welche ATEX-Zonen ist der FlowGuard® FS400 Ex zugelassen?

Der FS400 Ex ist für die kritischsten explosionsgefährdeten Bereiche zertifiziert: I M1 Ex ia I Ma (Bergbau), II 1G Ex ia IIC T4-T6 Ga (Gas-Zone 0,1), II 2D Ex ia IIIC T85°C-T135°C Db (Staub-Zone 21,22). Damit ist er für alle ATEX-Zonen 0, 1, 2, 20, 21, 22 einsetzbar.

Was bedeutet "intrinsisch sicher" und welche Vorteile bietet das?

Intrinsische Sicherheit (Ex ia) bedeutet, dass das Gerät selbst bei Fehlern keine Zündquelle erzeugen kann. Vorteile: Wartung im laufenden Betrieb möglich, keine Feuererlaubnisscheine erforderlich, einfache Installation mit zertifizierten Spannungsquellen oder Zener-Barrieren.

Ist eine SIL1-Version verfügbar und wofür wird sie benötigt?

Ja, optional ist eine SIL1-Version nach IEC 61508 verfügbar. Diese wird für sicherheitsgerichtete Anwendungen benötigt, wo der Strömungswächter Teil eines Sicherheitssystems ist (z.B. Pumpenschutz, Notabschaltungen). SIL1 entspricht Performance Level C nach EN ISO 13849-1.

Welche Installationsvorschriften gelten für Ex-Bereiche?

Die Installation muss nach DIN EN 60079-14 durch qualifizierte Fachkräfte erfolgen. Erforderlich sind intrinsisch sichere Speisungen (Zener-Barrieren), zugelassene Kabel und ordnungsgemäße Erdung. Das Gerät muss außerhalb der Ex-Zone über eigensichere Barrieren versorgt werden.

Für welche Branchen ist der FS400 Ex besonders geeignet?

Primäre Anwendungen sind Petrochemie, Raffinerien, Bergbau, Chemieanlagen, Lackieranlagen, Biogasanlagen und Kraftwerke. Überall dort, wo brennbare Gase, Dämpfe oder Stäube auftreten können und gleichzeitig Flüssigkeitsströme überwacht werden müssen.

Welche Temperaturklassen werden unterstützt?

Der FS400 Ex unterstützt Temperaturklassen T4-T6 für Gasanwendungen und T85°C-T135°C für Staub. T6 (85°C Oberflächentemperatur) für niedrigzündende Gase, T4 (135°C) für höhere Medientemperaturen bis +80°C.

Benötige ich spezielle Zubehörteile für Ex-Bereiche?

Ja, für Ex-Bereiche sind intrinsisch sichere Speisungen (Zener-Barrieren) erforderlich, die außerhalb der Ex-Zone installiert werden. Zusätzlich werden zugelassene Ex-Kabel und entsprechende Verschraubungen benötigt.

Wie erfolgt die Wartung in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen?

Dank intrinsischer Sicherheit kann die Wartung im laufenden Betrieb durchgeführt werden, ohne Feuererlaubnisscheine oder Anlagenstillstand. Das wartungsfreie kalorimetrische Prinzip minimiert Eingriffe auf regelmäßige Sichtprüfungen und Kalibrierungskontrollen.
